Continuous Vertical ConveyorTKF, Inc. Stainless Steel Continuous Vertical Conveyors provide high speed up-and-down service with an output of up to 40 loads per minute depending on overall product dimensions. With chain speeds up to 120 fpm, TKF continuous vertical conveyors are ideal for the packaging, food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.

TKF Continuous Vertical Conveyors are designed to accept a load horizontally, convey it vertically and discharge it horizontally in a continuous non-stop operation with loading and unloading in a Z pattern. Systems may be single direction or reversible, as required.

Each load is carried on a moving platform attached to continuous loops of chain. The unique platform carrier is rigid in the horizontal load-carrying position, yet flexible in the opposite direction, allowing it to travel around the sprockets in a minimum of space as it returns to the load position.

Powered conveyors synchronized to the lift platform speed are used in loading and unloading, and are designed for the specific product to be handled, using roller, belt or chain.

Five standard models are available, with unit load capacities ranging from 5 lbs. to 4,000 lbs., and vertical travel up to 80’. The in-feed height should be at least 18” to 28” but can be lower if a pit is used.

Clean, safe TKF Stainless Steel Conveyors feature a simple, low-maintenance design, a wide selection of standardized units from modular components, and fully automatic operation. The space-saving design cuts floor space requirements by up to 90%, utilizes vacant overhead space and opens up mezzanines and balconies for more effective use.

Literature Details Features and Benefits of the PosiGrip Motorized Roller Accumulation Conveyor

PosiGrip Accumulation Conveyor FlyerA four-color flyer from TKF, Inc. describes the features and benefits of PosiGrip Accumulation Conveyor that features non-contact, zero pressure accumulation that stages from the discharge end. PosiGrip is ideal for the appliance, automotive, glass, computer and electrical component, and food and beverage industries where non-contact between product is crucial.

The flyer describes how TKF's PosiGrip roller drive gear teeth are formed directly into the rollers and powered by smooth, quiet synchronous belting and a positive drive. There are no separate sprockets or gears and no welded drive components.

Accumulation zones are driven by motorized rollers, each with a drive card with settings that allow easy speed adjustment. The drive roller stops as product reaches the photo-eye at the discharge point of the zone, virtually ensuring no contact. Zones, which are available up to 75" long and 45" long, can be individually controlled for specific assembly areas and can easily handle a wide array of products with unit loads of up to 400 lbs. in each zone.

Since it requires no lubrication, the PosiGrip Accumulation conveyor is much cleaner than comparable conveyors, so it is ideal for both clean environments and rugged applications. The positive PosiGrip geared belts provide superior drive force versus line shaft and O-ring driven conveyors.

The advantages and mechanics of no impact conveying, as well as the options available on the PosiGrip Accumulation conveyor, also are detailed in the flyer.

TKF’s PosiGrip is Available in a Variety of Configurations to Solve Many Material Handling Applications.

PosiGrip from TKF is a powered, non-contact, zero pressure accumulation conveyor system and is available in a variety of flexible configurations.

  • PosiGrip comes in both standard motor driven and motorized roller driven zero pressure accumulation styles. It is available in standard sizes from 18" to 45" effective widths and zone lengths from 15" to 60". Other sizes are available upon request. Capable of running from 25 to 120 FPM with roller centers of either 2 ½” or 3 ¾”, and unit loads of up to 400 lbs. per zone, PosiGrip will meet the needs of most conveying requirements.
  • PosiGrip driven roller curves are available with a 32 ½” inside radius and 18" to 42" effective widths. They can be equipped with straight, tapered or true tapered rollers. Special radius and widths are available upon request. When used with the company’s PosiGrip accumulation conveyor, the curve allows for uninterrupted accumulation with no external sensors or logic required.
  • The PosiGrip lifting gate section creates a unique and effective solution when access behind or through a conveyor section is required. The units come in standard PosiGrip widths of 3'-0" or 4'-0" openings and can be built to meet specific requirements. It is self-contained and operates on a standard 110V electrical supply. A gas spring assists in the lifting mechanism. The result is a relatively lightweight and very economical and dependable gate section.
  • While TKF’s popular popup transfer lifts do not utilize PosiGrip rollers, they can be incorporated into a PosiGrip conveyor system. They lift items vertically, and then conveys them 90° to an adjoining conveyor. The system utilizes a mechanical linkage to guide lifting. Strands are driven by a motorized roller, eliminating chain drives and resulting in quiet operation. There are no vertical guides or cam ramps used for positioning, and no slides or bearings used in its construction, making the pop-up transfer conveyor simple to maintain. They are compact and utilize state of the art patented low maintenance design components. Available in either V-Belt, O Belt, Timing Belt or multi strand chains configurations, users have a choice of 2, 3 or 4 strands with spreads between 10 3/4" and 33 1/4" standard, with alternatives available upon request.

In all PosiGrip configurations, gear teeth for the roller drives are formed directly into the rollers and are powered by synchronous geared belting in a positive, non-slip drive configuration. The geared design provides superior drive force versus line shaft and O-ring driven conveyors. Each motorized drive roller includes a drive card that allows easy adjustment of speed in each zone providing complete control over product spacing. Since the zones are powered independently of one another and only when required, power consumption is minimized.

There are no separate sprockets or gears and no welded drive components. This results in a low-maintenance, compact and low-profile design. Since there is no metal-to-metal contact, product life is extended, there is no lubrication required, and operation is clean, smooth and quiet.
